Role Purpose:
The MRV Specialist supports the quantification of greenhouse gas emissions and removals, internal QA/QC, and third-party verification of carbon farming projects.
The role focuses on ensuring that project data, calculations, and reports are consistent with voluntary carbon standard requirements, audit-ready, and clearly documented, while growing into increasing responsibility within the certification team.
Key Responsibilities:
1. GHG Quantification
· Support and perform GHG emissions and removals quantification in line with VM0042/Ecometric guidelines
· Apply approved calculation approaches for soil organic carbon and related parameters
· Maintain transparent assumptions, conservative approaches, and calculation traceability
· Support updates and refinements of internal calculation tools and templates.
2. Internal QA/QC
· Perform internal QA/QC checks on monitoring data, calculations, and assumptions
· Review inputs from soil sampling, farmers and data teams for consistency and completeness
· Flag risks, inconsistencies, and missing data early in the reporting cycle.
· Document QA/QC findings and corrective actions
3. Monitoring & Reporting
· Contribute to the preparation of Monitoring Reports and technical annexes
· Ensure alignment between Monitoring Plans, field data, calculations, and reported results
· Support continuous improvement of reporting structures and documentation workflows
4. Third-Party Verification Support
· Support coordination with independent verifiers and auditors
· Prepare responses to clarification questions and minor findings
· Track document requests, timelines, and verification deliverables
· Support closure of NCRs and observations under senior guidance.
Required Qualifications & Skills
Must-have
· Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in agriculture, environmental science, climate science or related field with atleast 1–2 years of experience in GHG accounting, MRV, certification, or sustainability reporting.
· Understanding of Verra VM0042 methodology and its core principles
· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
· Ability to work with structured datasets and documentation
· Clear and precise technical writing skills
· Willingness to learn and operate in a startup or fast-evolving environment
Nice-to-have
· Exposure to AFOLU carbon projects or nature-based solutions
· Experience supporting third-party audits or verifications
· Familiarity with ISO-based standards (e.g. ISO 14064)
· Basic understanding of uncertainty management and conservative accounting
