Regenerative agriculture

We have succeeded in the EIT Food call and are receiving support for training activities for farmers in the Czech Republic.

What does this mean for you?

Thanks to the support of EIT Food - Regenerative Revolution Programme, we will organize the second conference on regenerative agriculture Living Landscape 2023 in the Czech Republic, and other events for farmers. We are also preparing face-to-face meetings, exchange of experience, and collaboration on individual holistic plans for farmers for this autumn and winter. Specific agenda of the events, dates, and venues will be announced soon.

Regenerative agriculture in the Czech Republic is only in its infancy and I am delighted that Carboneg was chosen in 2022 as one of five organizations in the CEE region to cooperate within Europe's largest agri-food network, which EIT Food undoubtedly is. We promise to start possible international cooperation in the future certification of regenerative production and exchange experiences with other European organizations in the process of implementing regenerative agriculture.

— says Václav Kurel, CEO Carboneg.

EIT Food is:

  • Europe's largest food initiative, working to make the food system more sustainable, healthy, and trustworthy. The aim is to create and foster an environment that supports innovation and entrepreneurship across Europe.
  • Part of the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT), an independent body of the European Union, established in 2008.

The EIT Food Programme in the Czech Republic includes the Impact Hub, which coordinates activities within the Czech Republic, and the University of Chemical Technology in Prague.

What do we expect and look forward to?

There are other organizations in the current call together with us. These include, for example, the Polish foundation Terra Nostra, or ABNT (Bulgarian Agricultural No-Till Association), which works on the introduction of regenerative agriculture and no-till technology in Bulgaria. Establishing new contacts with farming associations across Europe is something for us not to be missed. We are interested in scientific knowledge from local scientific institutions and sharing experiences with each other. We also appreciate the opportunity to share the experience of Czech farmers throughout the Programme.
